I guess you're looking for this guy? I don't know much about Bomberman Wars but I'm guessing that, considering it says he's within an egg/bonus item and appears within an even rarer chance, they may not have mentioned him as he was meant to be a sort of special surprise bonus. You know, like an easter egg. Lol.

Either that or you just missed him. Or you're missing a page of the manual! :O

Yeah, I found him now. I think it's as simple as the fact that the manual actually gives it as "Bomber Cerberus". And of course I was looking for a *three*headed dog. *facepalm*

Of course you don't know me, that's what strangers are for! You can see that this isn't my first- or even second- post though, so you can fill in the rest of my incredible backstory yourself =0

Actually I think there'll only be about three guys here who remember me...

Hi! I remember you!

Sorry about the dead link. Here's a new one (copy and paste):

http://www.filesend.net/download.php?f=868c486c982c67e22890483c81d17139

I should probably get around to scanning in the rest of the pages. Someday.

Hey all! Been a while! While browsing my local pawn shop, I found a copy of Inspector Gadget for SNES with an instruction manual. While sifting through its pages, I realized it was also made by Hudson and they included information about other games they offered at the time. I took a quick pick of the bit about Super Bomberman but my phone made it look awful.

Well it's something anyway.

Ah yeah, the old ads in the backs of the booklets. Neat.

Amusingly, I have the Super Bomberman U.S. manual, and it has an ad for Inspector Gadget on page 32.

Trying to get my desk set up finally in the apt, after moving a ton to storage. I will read over what books we had scanned and not scanned, and manuals. I am out of the loop but hope to try again soon to provide what I can. My life just sort of got terribly busy and then suck-filled, then busy again, and so forth. lol I have all of my manuals handy and the books, kept safe in ziplocks. I even have some new games on the way! :D

I recently made a few ebay purchases. I now have each installment of the Bomberman franchise for SNES/SFC (no duplicates).

One of these purchases was Bomberman B-Daman, of which there has been, to my knowledge, limited info. So, I extensively photographed and scanned the contents.

Within the zip, I've included several photographs of the "Limited B-Daman" and the box, and scans of the manual, B-Daman figurine instructions, and advertisements (I don't remember having scanned any of those before, so why not).

Interestingly, the B-Daman's head seems to be filled with a kind of metallic shimmering paper, to give it a bit of a shiny look.

Also, because I just know that you've all been losing sleep for years, wondering who the professor guy and the yellow-bandana-guy from the game are, the manual reveals these things. The bandana guy is Metsuseji, the "Master Advice King" (マスター攻略王メツセージ), and the professor is Dr. Tamano, head of the All-Japan B-Daman Association research institution (JBA研究所所長Dr.多摩野). Surprisingly, Metsuseji is represented by multiple photographs of an actual person, though I don't know anything about the character.

I have yet to fully transcribe/OCR and translate the text, but you can look at all of the pretty pictures by downloading the zip file here.

The other two things that I bought were Super Bomberman - Panic Bomber W, which has already been scanned, and Bomberman Panic Bomber for the Turbo Duo:

It's still factory sealed, though, so I'm not sure if I want to open it... Although the seller had multiple factory-sealed copies, and it's not like I'm going to sell it, so I might do it anyway. I kind of want to read the manual.

EDIT: I have the manual transcribed, but as I'm working on translating it, I've noticed some errors in my transcription, so I'm not posting it yet.

Bomberman B-Daman manual translation (took perhaps 2 days in total to actually translate):

[Expand] Japanese Transcription

[Expand] English Translation

NOTE: I'm not sure how exactly to tighten the term "しめ打ち", which refers to gripping a B-Daman in such a way as to aim it, so I just translate it as "tighten".

Hey plasm, great work as always! Gotta say I'm really looking forward to seeing even raw scans of Panic Bomber 1's manual. Always been so curious about that game, especially the final boss "The Scientist". :mystery:

EDIT: Hold up, have you actually had time to translate the Panic Bomber W manual? I have the scans you did, and am really curious about the character bios in particular...

Thanks.

I haven't yet scanned in that manual... I'll try to get that done soonish.

I've got pages 3-11 translated of the "Super Bomberman - Panic Bomber W" manual, but I forgot about it and it's left unfinished. I'll try to get around to doing that soon. I've always got so much to do, and I'm only one person...

Hey, understood! I've been trying to subtitle an old show by myself lately. =/ Time flies.

If there's any way I can help, let me know! I'd be more than happy to TL check or whatever.

Super Bomberman - Panic Bomber W Manual Translation

Oh, yeah. I forgot to mention. If you were wondering about the character bios, pretty much everything should have been on those characters' pages on the Wiki already... I took a look at them a year or so ago. Though, I might have made some mistakes back then. Anyway, here are my translation and transcription of the manual. Please feel free to double check my work.

[Expand] English

[Expand] Japanese

These are the parts of which I'm particularly unsure:

Ace, that's just what I was looking for! As for the bits you're not sure about...

スーパーテクニックの向こうに何かが見える!
"There is something beyond Super Techniques"? It's literally saying "something can be seen beyond Super Techniques," but it then proceeds to detail Super Techniques. =|

確かめなくては!!
This is very odd, seems to mean "There's no confirmation!!" or even an interrupted "I can't be sure without--!!" Maybe implying he needs to confirm what he's seeing with his own eyes? That's a common idea.

みんなでボバる!モードの遊び方
It certainly says "How to play Everyone Bobaru! Mode" but I've no flippin' idea what Bobaru means. Since the "ru" is hiragana we can essentially discard it, but the katakana "boba" still seems to mean nothing on its own. It's not even an onomatopoeia afaik. What is Bobaru Mode, exactly?

There is a Japanese brand of baby carriers called "Boba Wrap". Bubble tea's Taiwanese name "boba" is also used in Japan... Is it a mode where you carry babies and drink tea?

...pretty sure i should go to bed

Hahah, good to know that I'm not alone in my guesses regarding those passages.

Now that I think about it, maybe the title of part 9 is referring how, by making bigger and better chains, you can see more "attractions".

"Everyone Bobaru!" Mode is the name of the Battle Mode of the game, in which 2-4 players can compete against each other. I have no idea why it's not just called "Battle Mode" as it is in most other Bomberman games... I struggled with that until I finally just gave up and transliterated it, hahahah.

Bon Batoru

Bobaru

:mystery:

That might be it. At a glance i would've assumed it was supposed to say 'Bubble' but that would be Baburu, not Bobaru. :P

Soooooo I don't suppose that anyone was ever to able get/do scans of either the Super Bomberman 5 manual or the guide? As far as I can tell skimming through this (amazing) thread, the one site that used to have scans is now 404'd and while someone does appear to own the guide and is using it for the wiki, they have not (as far as I can tell) scanned it. :mystery:

Also, as a favor to someone, me and Bomber D. Rufi are doing (half-assed) scanslations of the enemy names and blurbs from the Bomberman Hero guidebook. Here's the ones for Bomber Star.

If I were in charge of localization, I would totally adapt "Katanaabasu" as "Twitchblade."
