Hey all. Is anyone out there interested in a group effort to translate the Bomberman video games? That are a lot of text heavy ones such as the Bakugaiden games on GBC as well as several games in the Land series.

I've discussed with Yume and he is open to translating written text. That would leave us needing someone to:

- Rip the text from the game
- Put the translated text back into a patch
- Play testers to check for typos and corrections
- Any additional help checking translations for accuracy

How about it? This is long overdo but I say it's time some effort is made.

The last one was my attempt to tranlate the names, though halfway down it's just unfiltered Google Translate.

I was certain I'd done a text dump of Final Mega Tune as well, but I can't seem to find it -- I can't imagine it'd be too difficult to do.
I was poking about in Wars Saturn files a while back; it's laid out differently than the PS1 version, but probably not too big a job either if the replacement text/images already exist.

I know some of the games in the list have had efforts to translate:
Saturn Bomberman Fight!! has a patch in the works, and apparently someone else planning an English fan dub.
The Jetters GBA translation project has been knocking around for years; I'm told some folks are still working on it, but it's mostly radio silence.
And there's a Discord group looking to translate Bomberman Wii into several languages; I'd helped point them towards how to insert text and they've found better tools for doing it, so results seem promising.

Thanks for summarizing the projects already in progress. Looks like Saturn Fight!! is well underway. I'll have to reach out and see if I can contact someone on the Jetters GBA team to see if it's still going. Wars on Saturn isn't a high priority since the PSX version is done. I mostly put it there for posterity's sake.

I forgot to add Bomberman Blast JP Version. Do you have any idea if the Bomberman Wii team is working on that by chance?
