I know what it's like to roam around places without registering or participating, since I've become quite the lurker myself over the years. It's definitely the least time consuming route, though there is the occasionally urge to tone in on certain things. At least having an account instead of browsing as a guest can be useful, since you gain access to more features and can keep track of new content easier.
