Hey, it's been a while, but I thought I should bring up something really interesting within volume 77.
When I first started translating, it's because I knew that some silly hacks made up new names like "Zach" and "Miss Flashy" for the characters in Panic Bomber VB, and I wanted to know what the characters (aside from Pretty Bomber) were really called. I had postulated that maybe they just didn't even bother to translate the characters' names. However, these scans prove me wrong.
While the first level is renamed to this weird "Bow Wow Ruins" shit, on page 74, it clearly mentions "Balom", "Kurin", "Wolfbomber", and "Bompire". So, early in porting the game, somebody was going to use the right names - er, well, sort of (Wolfbomber?).
Although, again... Decker Bomb...
I've said it before: If you can't even figure out what "deka" means maybe you shouldn't be professionally translating video games. |

Funny, but the difference there is that the title of that anime is actually decker
デッカー = Dekker (Decker)
デカボム = Deka (Big) Bomu
Side note: I don't believe I've heard of this show before. |
