Hmmm...
Kuragedaru (クラゲダール), the jellyfish enemy from Super Bomberman 3 (and later games).
It shares the same name as a jellyfish monster man from Kamen Rider. And both are electric in nature. But everywhere I look, no one seems to be able to translate the name.
Surely there must be something here? "Kurage" means "jellyfish", sure, but what of "daru"? Is there any significance to it, or was the Kamen Rider character just given this name that was based on "kurage", and then the Bomberman enemy was simply named after the Kamen Rider character because both were electric jellyfish?
Also, Matango (マタンゴ), the mushroom monster from the same game - Am I correct in assuming that this is a direct reference to the Japanese movie about mushroom people that bears the same name? |
