So there's this great website called The Cutting Room Floor. For those of you who do not know, It's dedicated to covering unused content in games, prototypes, etc. I've known about it for a while now. I was looking at their B64 page when I found THIS:

https://tcrf.net/Bomberman_64_(US/Europe)#Unused_Graphics

It's an early logo for Baku Bomberman!  I decided to post this here because I didn't see anyone else here talk about it. There are also three test levels. So, yeah. What do you people think? Is it interesting? :normal:
Edit: Renamed the thread

I'm gonna do a comparison of the early logo with the final logo.

[Collapse] Early vs Final

Top = Early
Bottom = Final (Yeah I know it's the title screen but it still counts)

Differences

1. The Bomb is pre-rendered on the early logo. It was made 2d for the final version. It's also at a different angle.

2. "Bomberman" is in Japanese as opposed to English like most Bomberman logos. The final logo changed this to the traditional series look.

3. The "Baku" text has a fiery background. This unfortunately wasn't kept for the final version.

4. The Bomb Rope/Fuse is different. The early rope is beige and has the fuse on top. The final rope is blue and is covered by the fuse.

5. The layout is different. The early logo has "Baku" on top and Bomberman on the bottom. The final logo has "Baku" to the left and Bomberman to the right.

It seems that the final logo is somewhat inspired by the earlier one.

EDIT: There's a Bomberman Hero page on TCRF. It has GameShark codes for a Debug Mode/In-Game Level Editor and even a Regional Differences page (although it's a work-in-progress)!

Your welcome. Just doing my job for the B-man community. :peace:

Also, For anyone reading this, this thread is now dedicated to unused content in Bomberman Games (including debug menus & test levels). Feel free to post anything unused content related here.

One thing that I've always been interested in is Bomberman Hero's Debug Mode. It has a lot of interesting features, like a map editor (very cool for a game from 1998). Can anyone here experiment with the debug mode?

I know this is a bit off topic but in 2017, while looking through Baku Bomberman with N64 sound tool, I found some voice clips of the Rainbow Palace Stage 2 boss saying various words. The words seemed to match up with the official Japanese guide's names for the boss' cards (this means that these clips were supposed to be used for the various attacks the boss has). However, in the final game, they're unused! Even more jarring is the fact that the clips were rerecorded for the English version (Bomberman 64). I managed to rip the clips from the Japanese and U.S. versions.

Here is a link to the unused attack names (Japanese first, then English).

Edit: Post was moved from another topic so that it's not off-topic.
