Snake Evader is a game that combines Snake, Pac-Man, Bomberman, and more into one unique new multiplayer experience! Collect golden eggs, evade robotic snakes, compete with friends, trap bad guys, and even grow a trail of fire out of your bum! In the demo, you can play three game modes:
Evader Mode - Collect Golden Eggs while avoiding four robotic snakes, each with its own personality traits. Complete objectives to unlock characters! 1 level is available. Survival Mode - It's like Evader Mode, but with 2-4 human or AI players. Collect the most eggs and survive until the end to win! 2 levels are available. Snake Mode - Collect Platinum Eggs to grow your own trail of flames and trap your opponents! 2 levels are available.
In the final release, there will be more levels, many more unlockable characters, a Maze Mode, bosses, and much more.
There are still 18 days left on the Kickstarter, and we're only about 26% of the way there. We'll need a big boost to get through to the end. If the game isn't funded, development may have to slow down, but we still intend to produce it (especially given the interest we've noticed around the web).
In case anybody out here doesn't follow us on Twitter or Facebook, we've been sharing a bunch of promotional stuff that ties into the game.
The game's digital lorebook/guidebook is meant to include four-panel gag comics, similar to Bomberman's official guidebooks. I intend to produce and share a few of these in advance on social media. Here's one that went around a few weeks ago:
We've fielded several comments about the music since before the Kickstarter was launched - to ease any concerns, we are working tenaciously to refine the music as best as we possibly can. The end result might not be the greatest soundtrack you've ever heard, but it isn't going to be bad (I would refuse to release the final game in such a state). The music heard in the various versions of the demo and promotional videos floating around shouldn't reflect the end quality.
And yes, we did get Greenlit. Steam Greenlight officially on June 6, but Valve decided to go through the 3400+ remaining entries that had not been Greenlit and decide which ones to push forward. We were fortunate enough to have been chosen, so the game will appear on Steam when it is completed!
tl;dr: Snake Evader will be on Steam.
Thanks to anybody who voted.
I'm posting another comic from the guidebook today; this one is about Glutton (the yellow snake):
