Not my art, but the art of someone who is a concept artist for Namco-Bandai.

Player 1 Design

Shirobon's Spaceship

Pretty, Brain, and Plasma

Swamp Stage

Ice Stage

Desert Stage Boss Battle

Promo Art

It's things like this that only bolster my conviction that Act Zero's conceptual premise didn't have to turn out as generically shitty as it did. :shifty:  I don't think the character designs here are perfect or anything, but certainly the environments look epic and it's at least closer to the feel of Bomberman than Act Zero.

The character designs certainly leave something to be desired (barely resembling the original characters, if at all in some cases), but the art is just incredible across the board. The desert picture here especially evokes a pretty good image of how Bomberman could be adapted to a gritty, war-like sci fi game. You bring up a good point... Where Act Zero really failed was in its lack of imagination, both in graphical design and gameplay design. Sure, lots of existing fans would still have panned it for breaking so much from tradition, but it could have worked on a different level...

The desert picture is easily my favorite. It's like Shadow of the Colossus, but with more explosions.

Magnet and Golem

Going in the completely opposite direction -- someone took the Act Zero redesign and made sprites of it.
