I personally hate the N64 controller, generally prefer playing games in emulated form over playing on actual hardware, and I use my monitor for both console and PC gaming. That said... None of the N64 emulators out there are that great. Project 64 works well enough for some games, but nearly every great N64 game played on Project 64 has graphical issues of some sort and the emulator itself lacks options compared to emulators like ePSXe. Now BSNES (now known as Higan) and ePSXe are fantastic emulators. Playing games on those emulators have given me hardly any issues, especially Higan. Higan is probably the most impressive emulator I've ever used in terms of accuracy, but you need some damn nice hardware for it work worth a damn. I'll be awesome when Higan will become the ultimate emulator for NES, GB, GBC, and GBA games.
