Does anyone know of any good monster raising type games other than Pokemon and Digimon? I know Monster Rancher is one but I don't have a PS2 and I need to know of there are any good games like that for consoles such as the DS and Wii (I'm getting Monster Rancher DS when it gets released in July though).

I hear the Megami Tensei games are really good and are pretty much the spiritual predecessor to Pokemon. I haven't actually played them, so I wouldn't know, but they seem to be well praised and a friend of mine really likes the games. Apparently Satan's in most of the games too, which is kind of cool.

Other then that though, I'm not sure what other games there are out there that fit that category other then the ones you mentioned.

I believe I've mentioned Dragon Warrior Monsters before but its a great game for the Game boy color.

You fight, capture, train and breed monsters and explore many dungeons.

You have a party of 3 monsters that all fight at the same time.

Can't believe I forgot to mention Dragon Warrior Monsters. I loved that game, moreso then I did Pokemon.

What about Dragon Quest Monsters Joker for the DS? I no longer have a working GBA so I can't play GBC games anymore.

I was watching some vids on that the other day. From what I can see Dragon Quest Monsters Joker looks like a modernized version of Dragon Warrior Monsters. The game I suggested. It moderately caught my interest but I'm not liking the monster designs I've seen so far. I might try it some day though.

I'd say it does look similar to Dragon Warrior Monsters which was a great game. Only now it's 3D.
