Hey there,

In some Bomberman games, a character called Miss Honey makes an appearance.

Who is she, exactly? Google isn't helping me out here.

Thanks.

Honey and Kotetsu are Hudson Soft's mascots. For some reason Hudson seems to integrate them into Bomberman's storylines every now and then. There's not really any other backstory from what I know of, except maybe how they came to be the mascots. A cowgirl and a samurai? Probably symbolic somehow, meh.

Have these guys appeared anywhere outside of Bomberman games?

Also, does anyone have any pictures of the two?

Thanks once more.

I don't know where to find pictures of them other than possibly on the official Hudson Soft site, but I haven't checked.

Anyway like I said they're mascots so they've obviously appeared elsewhere. I'm sure they've been in other games but I would not know which. Also, this sprite sheet seems to suggest that they've been in other games.

She's that cowgirl in pink, and Kotetsu is the guy in the yellow samurai guise. Super Bomberman 4? 5? Bomberman Party Edition? Saturn? I'm sure there are more....

They come from Tengai Makyou ("Far East of Eden"), a Hudson series of games that are hugely famous in Japan and in Taiwan, although only one game came overseas. Miss Honey was also Bomberman's official mascot, having her own website that carried information on the games and such. Unfortunately, it is down now.

I still want to get one of those UFO catcher dolls of Honey eventually. She also makes an appearance in import Saturn Bomberman: Fight! along with several other odd characters from other game series/anime.

I remember seeing a flood of promotional Honey and Kotetsu gear on eBay a few years ago but I was still a poor college student then. That website that is down or whatnot was pretty entertaining. Maybe it's been archived somewhere. :/
