Hey guys, I saw a few people back on page one talking about what' the meaning of the R in the title is, so I thought I'd share this response I received from Konami on reddit:

Hello!
R is a throw back feel for the Devs. to when games could simply have a letter and allow that letter to carry many meanings.
It symbolized Returns & Reborn because this game is such a homage to SNES and SB3.
But it also mean Rangers, to represent the diverse and colorful group of Bomberman characters who patrol the galaxy.
I knew I wasn't imagining the SB3 connection, but now the odds that the game will have on foot battles agains the Fives are that much lower...
Ah, a few interesting things about all that artwork:
I suspected this, but it seems Pretty Bomber has an animated cybernetic lines effect going on for her mask.
Golem Bomber still has his animated eyes, they just changed the default form.
SB3 had the main characters leaving a space station on a ship; with the above comment, we can surmise that R is going to have a similar premise. Also, that little UFO looks a lot like the one Bugler uses in that game.
Nice catch on those visors; I especially wouldn't have noticed the Golem Bomber one. At least he still has a display screen.
I'd just assumed that flying saucer was back view of the Bomber shuttle above (thrusters in yellow), but now that I'm actually looking at it, I see it differently... It could be world 6.
And I'm still pretty convinced that there are no rival battles.

Interesting the meaning of the word R, It has meaning both with the word Rangers and Reboot
The images above are interesting, I knew that PrettyBomber used a layer
In the official Facebook group Bomberman had published the same cover twice, but they changed the position to the characters and removing the front cover
Before
After
Es como si lo hubieran hecho para ocultar lo que se puede ver de la base bomberman

Some in-game victory screenshots here on Tumblr! I like that Pink isn't wearing a skirt.
I agree. I'm struggling to remember the last female Bomber who didn't have one... Bomber Lady ('94), ironically, was the first, though in artwork only.

But if they don't have skirts, what am I supposed to do with all these Wind Bombs?
Just use your imagination. I'm sure your Wind Bombs will be happy!
It's very surprising for myself to see a Bomberman Title by Konami for the Switch. I was hyped when I saw the trailer and hey: even the voice acting sounds great!
... Don't mind me, though, I won't spoil myself with all the things that are flying across this Topic here in regards to Bomberman Super-R. I love surprises.
Though seeing some changes within the Artworks and Animations sure catches my attention.
@SailorBomber Nice catch, didn't notice the change in placement at all.
@Sora I realized after you posted those win screens that I actually have the Shiro one in a higher resolution, here.
Also, here is the original PR letter that went along with the announcement. I didn't realize they actually said 50 stages... so, six worlds with eight stages each is basically confirmed, with maybe an extra two stages.
