Very nice!
I believe that Ragey used to have a scanned copy of the SB5 manual up on his site. For some strange reason, the link to his old Super Bomberman 5 page now redirects to his new Super Bomberman 1 page. I have the manual, but they're not my scans... They might be Dragon Bomber's or something; but whatever the case may be, I doubt the owner would mind me reuploading them.
Here is the manual, uploaded for a limited time.
As for the guidebook, there was a guy on the Bomberman Wiki who bought that a year or two ago and was helping out by adding information from it. He never scanned the whole thing, though. I have a smattering of pages from it that he sent me.
Here are a few pages from the SB5 guidebook, also uploaded for a limited time.
The guidebook is seriously lacking in artwork, compared to the previous SFC guidebooks.
As for the translation of the Super Bomberman 5 manual, I'm almost certain that The Wayback Machine still has it. Unfortunately, I've lost the link to the original site, so I can't get there! If you still have the link, please try using The Wayback Machine and if it works, post that link here. I would meticulously reread this entire thread and try to unearth the original site (if it was indeed posted here), but I d rather not face the stupidity of multiple younger versions of me across the span of several years. |

On a side note, I remember someone way earlier in this thread was complaining about the difficulties of scanning the books and such. (I know those feelings, bro.) The only way to get a nearly-perfect scan job is to debind the book (in other words, tear it apart and pull out the pages) and scan each page separately. Which sucks because these things are already kind of a hassle to get a hold of, so to have to destroy them for the sake of sharing them with the world is a bit -inducing. I've already debound the Bomberman 64 4-Koma Gag Battle book, and while my scan job this time around is much better than when I tried it several years ago, the bibliophile in me continues to be appalled that I did such a thing to one of my books. The thought of repeating the process for 14+ volumes of assorted Bombermanga is just A-GO-NY, A-GO-NY all around.
(There is a way to rebind debound books, but I've yet to try it out.) |

I haven't posted in here in a while. Anyway, something reminded me that Ragey posted the Saturn Bomberman Hudson Official Guidebook some time ago with no fanfare that I know of, and I figured that I would translate the enemy characters' descriptions. So here they are:

So among other things, Ragey has uploaded the guidebook for Super Bomberman Panic Bomber W. It has actual art of Space Bomber! This is a little surprising, given that Bomberman Maniax only showed his in-game pixel art despite showing art of the World Bombers.
It also has some text describing him. I figured that I would translate it, but it didn't yield anything that interesting (only the relevant parts are here):
So all we really have is:
1) He literally lives in space.
2) He's the one who really controlled the World Bombers, not Bagura. Well, that was already pretty obvious.
3) His lair is specifically called a space station.
4) The ending is described in detail. That stuff was pretty clear in the credits anyway.
If anybody is still wondering and never checked my article on the Wiki, Space Bomber's goal - which the guidebook decides to leave ambiguous - is apparently to either eat the world or its inhabitants (or both?). He uses the word "itadakimasu" which is something people say when they're about to eat something. It's probably an allusion to "To Serve Man". |

Hello, so I did some editing on the manga pages present in the Super Bomberman 5 manual, just for fun. I didn't wanted to create a thread just for this, so i'm posting it here in case anyone is interested:
The script is based on a translation I saw on the wiki, along with my own knowledge of japanese. I took some liberties to build a more concise dialogue too. The original scans are from DragonBomber.
I apologize if this isn't the appropriate place to post it. |

I see! Sorry for that. Although my English is decent sometimes i make silly mistakes, since its not my native language. Thanks for pointing it out.
Anyway, I discarded this script almost entirely, because I decided to redo the whole translation. Here it is the updated version:
Again I made some adaptations, but now it's very minimal. If someone wants to give it a shot, here's the transcript:
Feedback is welcome, feel free to point whatever you guys find wrong. I'm planning to do the entire manual. |

Great, but... any particular reason why? It was already translated a long time ago. I think that translation took some liberties as well though. |
