Hey Jaklub, the game its looking pretty good! i am so excited to play this next version of the game! and by the way Jaklub, i actually found a really awesome menu music for the online mode menu, that you could use for this next version of the game, sadly i can't find it on Youtube so i think i can't give it to you, but i can say that it comes from Bomberman Hardball, that game has a battle mode, and its the battle mode music of this game that i want to give you, this game also has 3 battle themes( the third one is the best one in my opinion), and i think if you search on Youtube "Bomberman Hardball", you may find a video of this game, and i think you may be able to listen 2 or 1 of this 3 battle themes, sadly you can't hear the battle mode menu music but you can still hear some of the battle themes of the game, but at least i said i tried to help you on the next version of the game. Thanks! PS: if you're asking how i hear the battle mode menu of the game is because Bomberman Land 3 And Bomberman Battle( that i think is just Bomberman Hardball but in japonese) has the same battle themes and the same battle mode menu music and i already played this two games so... yeah |

I'll probably use something from either Bomberman Blast or Bomberman Online DC for the lobby, ogg files will be still stuck in a music folder, so you'll swap it out if you want to |

The battle stage that starts with all items in the middle already sort of exists in the form of the piñata stage (honestly, that seems a little more balanced anyway, since otherwise one person can easily grab almost everything). I could almost swear that type of stage has appeared in another game before Bomberman Blast, but all I can remember exactly is the stage in Super Bomberman 1 that has all the items lining the outer walls.
I feel that the no-hard-blocks stages are rather obtuse and a little silly. Since Bomberman games are designed with a grid in mind, there's no way to move diagonally and so the controls feel kind of awkward. It also makes it harder to strategize... at all, really, aside from dropping lots of bombs and trying to overpower the other players or trap them in one of the four corners. Then there's the whole "why are the bombs still exploding in + shapes" thing, but that's more of an aesthetic thing... I suppose I have the same complaint about some other titles.
Regarding the battle themes, I guess it's just that... With the first one, why is there even barking and meowing involved? It sounds like something I would have done when composing a terrible MIDI as a kid. Maybe that's what the composer was meaning to evoke, but if so, it still sounds random in its arrangement and unappealing for how bizarrely unfitting it feels.
The other two certainly do have that "Bomberman Land" sound to them, so the instrumentation doesn't sound off. As for the arrangements, the second one just doesn't seem like an action-based battle theme to me. More like a cinematic sequence or menu or puzzle game music, I don't know. The third one is really the best of the three, but both of them are pretty repetitive. Like, the third song: it's only 48 seconds long, but that's not really the problem because most old video game music was also pretty short... There's just something about it that feels stagnant and lazy. The arrangements aren't bad at all, when taken apart into individual verses, it's just the lack of variation that makes the songs suffer... at least to me.
These are all just personal opinions. Maybe I'm being too harsh on it, I don't know. |

Do you mean those 2 stages from Bomberman Blast? Yes i actually like some ideas from that game, like that mode where Bombs are raining from the sky and you need to survive and be the
last Bomber alive, that mode is pretty cool! And also, i never though those Battle Themes were Bad, i always loved the Atmosphere they give to the Battle. So yeah... |
I think I've seen both in Hardball, and one in Bomberman DS. So no, not bomberman blast, I've never had that one. Although, I did see one of them is in on youtube. Isn't blast the game that only has it's singleplayer mode in Japan?
Also, Plasma Captain, it is indeed silly, that's why I like it. It kind of goes against the fundamental design of Bomberman. It's silly, but it's kinda fun to mess around with. |

TBH they are awful, I am afraid I won't use them. Thanks for suggestion, though.
edit: Are there any plans for a stage where there's a bunch of good items in the middle, and then soft blocks around it? Or what about one with no hard blocks at all? |
There already is the pinata stage, which was already mentioned, but I can probably squeeze in some typical "treasure" stage in somewhere as well.

Well said. The whole "why are the bombs still exploding in + shapes" thing is more or less why I'm reluctant to include "holes over which explosions pass over but not players" stage - it just doesn't make sense. Then again though, the series did have some strange things going on regarding cross-shaped explosions since always, with that MSX game allowing you to set bombs not lined up to the grid or dangerous bomb since Super Bomberman 4, so I'll probably just eventually do it. This having said, actual open field stages with movement not restricted by a grid are likely not happening ever. |

I am not afraid of putting them in, I just decided not to.
"I'm afraid I" etc etc was a salutation. |

Thanks for posting, here's another video. I'm aiming for a release sometime this year, but it's not certain.

It would be cool to have a mode like that one from Bomberman Blast too, that bombs are raining from the sky and the last Bomber to survive wins. |
I believe we've went over before. Battle modes other than FFA aren't warranted to be implemented, I'll be looking into this, but no promises here. |
