Part of me thinks that the keys above are for like 'unlocking' those stairs for the next section of the stage, and then the 2nd key for actually completing the stage.
That's my crazy thoughts at least.
I still hope for the rival battles, but I won't get myself hyped up for it. >.<
Forewarning: my spouse is not a big Bomberman fan and only played a few of the games, but even they were reacting with funny looks at the inane banter between these guys. "I used to play Bomberman 64 all the time" "Oh, well that's good because it's just like Bomberman 64"... girl...
And it only gets worse from there. The interviewee even refers to "Super Nintendo" Bomberman and "Bomberman 3" as if they're different things.
Fortunately you don't have to watch it because I'm listing the interesting stuff here (I apologize if I'm repeating anything):
* Stage goals include defeating all enemies, "unlocking" switches, and dropping things down (onto enemies, or to make new paths) - interactive terrain, just like we were promised with Virtual Bomberman so long ago!
* There are secret and unlock battle maps, not sure what the difference is. Apparently there's no public count for them yet.
* The coins are earned through gameplay. Everything is earned through gameplay.
* Coins be used to unlock "hats" (antennae), maps, and secret characters (!).
* Apparently some play features and icons are borrowed from Bomberman 64.
* The second battle stage shown has a pair of moving platforms surrounding an otherwise inaccessible middle platform. I don't remember if this has ever appeared outside of the Normal Game before in an official game.
Watching the video on mute (may attempt sound later if I feel like rolling my eyes at bomberplebes ). It's a little disappointing that the custom parts are only limited to the antenna, but on the other hand White walking around with a guitar on his head is pretty hilarious. Careful with that axe, bro.
RE: "it's just like Bomberman 64" -- Well, so far, all we've seen of SBR's battle mode looks pretty standard, so in that sense, yeah, it is like Bomberman 64...I guess? rofl.
(This is making me want to go and play Generation multiplayer again. Anyone who knows me from here knows that I don't usually do battle mode, but Generation had some fun as hell variations.)

Relegating custom parts to the antenna is a pretty weird move, especially since antennae have traditionally not been customizable on their own. I suppose it's because there are a bunch of selectable characters, so they want the characters to stand out on their own, making the antennae more of an accessory or indicator. That's just my best guess...

What unofficial game was it in?
Moving floors are in Power Bomberman, I think. Either they're in the current version or they've been shown in some of the teasers for the next version. I could check but... I'm lazy...

That was my thought too. It's an interesting move. That being said, it would be nice to see a mixture of 1) custom parts that could be equipped by every character and then 2) custom parts specific to each character. Maybe in the next game? Or DLC?

Good enough for me, bro. I'm all about the lazy. /patpat
What exactly is it, about this game, that is supposed to be anything like Bomberman 64?
White betrays the entire team once you 100% the game, I'm calling it right now --
No, but you're right, it's definitely like they took the basics of the Super Bomberman games and mashed it up with the writing sensibilities of the Land series. But who outside of us bomberfolks really know what Bomberman Land is? Bomberman 64 is probably just the easier/more familiar thing to refer to (if also the more inaccurate thing).
It's Konami U.S., not Hudson, and it's been years since a Bomberman game was released here. I'm not surprised by their lack of knowledge.
As for the B64 comparisons, I assume he's relaying info he was given, though it's uncertain as to what it means. He said play features; maybe it mostly meant things like coins (TSA) and custom parts, and/or stage objectives/traps.
Green seems mischievous, yeah.

Not sure whether anyone else notices these things, but just so they don't get lost in the Twilight Zone, here are a few details about the Fives:
1) Plasma Bomber has energy wings now. I thought they were just an emotive background thing, but nope, his robot has them, and he consistently has them in every pose; apparently they're sprouting from where his scarf would be billowing.
2) Magnet Bomber's scarf now follows his red and blue color scheme. Nothing too interesting, but a neat detail nonetheless.
3) Bugler has a muscular robot body now. There was some debate regarding his legs earlier. I think what we were shown was just his crotch piece, as he is no longer fat, or more accurately bomber shaped. In the image below, you can clearly see the shape of his upper body as well as his musculature, especially around his left arm.
4) Golem Bomber has not one but three birds, and some battle damage, specifically an indentation on his right shoulder and a dramatic anime scar on the left. I wonder how he came to be... maybe Bugler made him before the others.
This last one was pointed out earlier, but...
5) Pretty Bomber isn't wearing her usual skirt; she has some sort of Artemis toga deal, or maybe a double slit skirt, instead. Judging by the shading, it would seem the backside of her cape has the same black/very dark purple color as her body also, though that might have been obvious anyway due to how it rests around her neck. Maybe the underside of the skirt is the same?
I've been trying to find out higher res artwork for those five, but having had no success, I just went and looked real hard at the ones we have.
Cool. Looking at the original post, it seems like they're going to post one for each of the heroes and villains.
On an unrelated note, It just dawned on me that Golem Bomber now has an antenna. He only ever had one in his SB2-3 sprites, never in his artwork/merchandise or later games (except for B-Daman things).
