Ah, nifty. A lot of the older stuff there.

Sailor Moon was pretty much my first anime series, along with Dragon Ball Z and Pokemon and was my favorite of the 3 and of the that time. It's formula is pretty timeless. I've watched the first 3 out of the 5 seasons. Found all of them enjoyable and I have rewatched the first 2 a 2nd time.

Yu Yu Hakusho is really good for a Shounen show, perhaps even the best one. Even by my standards today, and may I add that Shounen/Fighting isn't a genre I really care for or follow shows for anymore.

Speaking of Rurouni Kenshin, I have not seen much of the TV series other then a few random eps back when they showed it in America. However I just recently watched the OVA Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal, which is a prequel to Kenshin and it was fantastic. One of the best Samurai shows I've ever seen. It's much darker then Kenshin and explains his past. It's a very good title and I'd highly recommend it if you haven't seen it yet. I definitely acknowledge all the praise it's gotten from the anime community.

I've heard of your remaining titles but haven't seen them myself.

An update with my recent activity...

~Fall 2011 Results~

Ben-To - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8292
Was a totally ridiculous show but while the concept is ridiculous, it doesn't take itself seriously and can be funny at times. Was not too pleased with the 2nd half and the ending left something to be desired. all in all a mediocre series. First half was the best part.

Fate/Zero - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8160
Was frigging awesome. Highly recommended! Awesome animation and tons of bad ass/awesome characters. Can't wait for the 2nd season this spring, easily the best show of the season.

Working!! (2nd season) - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8364
One of my picks of the season. I consider it slightly better then the first season. I loved it.

Squid Girl (2nd season) - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8294
More of the same and enjoyable though I thought the first season was slightly better overall.

Morita-san 2 - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8700
More of the same from last season, enjoyed it.

~Winter 2012~

Chibi Devi! - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8645
Ongoing from last season. Nothing fantastic. so-so shoujo show about raising a baby devil.

Amagami SS+ - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8573
Sequel of last years dating sim adaptation. Each girl gets 2 new episodes that are sort of like alternate endings or continuations. So far its been enjoyable.

Another - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8556
A mystery/thriller series that I've been kind of on the fence about but its started improving the past couple episodes now that we're starting to figure out whats going on.

Listen to me girls! I am your father! - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8686
Probably my favorite of the season so far but its still not an amazing show. A young guy in college adopts and take's care of his nieces after their parents go missing. It still feels like it hasn't decided what it wants to do, since they also introduced a bunch of characters from his college early on and now we aren't seeing much of them at all. most of the characters are likeable though.

Daily Lives of High School Boys - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8729
Very funny show based on a manga. It's pretty much what it sounds like but there are also all sorts of humor to appeal to a broader audience. A lot of silly stuff, also some scenes that are very well written and plenty of scenes with parodies. recommended.

~other projects~

Finished Carnival Phantasm. Good fun for Typemoon fans. Would not recommend to folks unfamiliar with Fate/Stay Night and Tsukihime

Finished all the K-On material available. great series. very cute and fun to watch. Waiting for movie.

Also finished a few older shows I stalled. Nodame Canatbile 2, very good and Night Wizard which was solid.

Well It's that time again! Winter season is over and we're moving into Spring So here's my newest post

~Winter 2012 Results~
I'll list them favorite to least, here goes....

Daily Lives of High School Boys - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8729
Nichibros was a great watch! Very funny and highly recommended. All sorts of different comedy to appeal to mostly anyone, from parodies to great written segments, and even slapstick.

Listen to me girls! I am your father! - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8686
I liked this about as much as Nichibros but I wouldn't recommend it to everyone. It's mostly a cute, funny and heartwarming show but there's the occasional ecchi, more-so earlier in the series that can hurt the mood it is trying to create. In any case I loved the characters and looked forward to it each week.

Amagami SS+ - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8573
Sequel to last years dating sim adaptation. Each girl gets 2 new episodes that are sort of like alternate endings or continuations. I probably enjoyed it about as much if not slightly more then the first series. Fans of the first series would enjoy.

Black Rock Shooter TV - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8584
TV version is quite different from the OVA and I didn't like it as much. The pacing of the show was kind of clunky and hard to follow at times. The OVA also had considerably better animation. All in all it still managed to be okay.

Another - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8556
A mystery/thriller series. A bit slow in the beginning but it starts building up to something more interesting in the middle. However as it progressed it became increasing difficult to take seriously till some of the character deaths became so ridiculous that I couldn't really bring myself to like it anymore. However it held my interest till the end. Animation and artwork were also very well done and the voice cast was pretty good.

Chibi Devi! - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/anim.....e&aid=8645
Nothing fantastic. Mediocre shoujo show about raising a baby devil. short episodes so it doesn't take long to finish. May be moderately enjoyable to those that like silly cute shorts.

~Spring 2012~
It's gonna be a light season since my main computer crapped out and now I'm using my dino for anime. My dino comp can only handle Xvid avi files mainly. It's like back to the stone-age.... ugh. So i'll be finishing up the last of the DVDs in my personal collection.

My current season plans....

Mysterious Girlfriend X - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8853
Watched the first ep today. I was intrigued by the art style even though the premise sounded absurd! The two main characters are awesome and it's pretty funny. I'm looking forward to see how this will go!

Fate/Zero Part 2 - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8880
2nd half of Fate/Zero. Will definitely watch but may hold off till its complete and marathon. First half was friggin amazing! Any Fate fan must simply watch this. Highly recommended to anyone else that likes fantasy and action. Watch the other Fate/ material first though...

~I may also watch if avi/xvid is available~

Acchi Kochi - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8890
Doesn't sound too great but may be kind of funny or a guilty pleasure...

And that's pretty much it for now. Maybe I'll grab 1-2 other things but I'm really gonna try taking it easy with this season.

~other recent projects~

Dirty Pair TV - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=401
Recently got the 2nd half box set in the mail. watching a few eps here and there. great episodic classic.

Bubblegum Crisis - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=68
lol, speaking of classics! I recently finished this. Pretty good cyberpunk show with great music. great art/animation for the 80s. and cool character designs by kenichi sonada who also did Gall Force and Gunsmith Cats.

Kiddy Grade - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=251
Another pretty solid sci-fi series I finished recently. Starts slow is mostly episodic but about half way through it starts getting pretty interesting with some neat plot twists and development. Animation is also very good for its era (early 00s)

Steins;Gate - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=7729
This was from a few seasons ago and was recommended to me by a buddy. The middle portion of this show where its real plot surfaced was a bit rough for me and I had a bit of trouble conforming to it but all in all it was a pretty great show about time-travel. Characters and voice cast are absolutely fantastic and worth checking out the show for on their own.

Anyone else up to anything recently? This is kind of just turning into a topic where I rant constantly. lol!

Guess I haven't posted here in a while. Guess I'll get to it.

Past stuff:

Ben-Tou
I talked about this one prior but have not spoken about it since I've finished it. Overall a really average show with an uninteresting cast of characters. The first half was pretty entertaining, but the second half took a real nosedive with a lack of any kind of story afterwards, introduction to even more boring and unwanted characters, three terrible-to-mediocre episodes in a row... Wouldn't recommend.

Carnival Phantasm
Awesome self-parody of Type-Moon's works. Not a whole lot to say that hasn't been said already.

Squid Girl second season
More of the same slice-of-life comedy showcasing the antics of Squid Girl. You'll like this one if you liked the first season.

Recent stuff:

Daily Lives of High School Boys
Recently finished Nichibros and it was awesome! Cannot recommend this enough to anyone who enjoys slice-of-life style comedies.

K-On!
Saw a little bit of this at Anime Boston over the weekend with the bro. I liked it, may watch more sometime.

Steins;Gate
Watched upon recommendation by a friend. Was really really good. Around the middle is when the story really kicks off and it's a roller coaster from there. The characters are great, voice cast is really good, premise is interesting. Highly recommend.

First Squad: Moment of Truth - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=4401
Also saw this movie at Anime Boston with the bro. Watched the dub. An alternative history anime based on the second World War with elements of paranormal/supernatural activity. Was pretty interesting, although most of the action scenes felt like teasers to me. Seems like there may be more based on how the movie ended.

Current/future projects:

Mysterious Girlfriend X
The premise of the show sounds so stupid, but the first episode was actually pretty good! The main characters are awesome too, as my brother mentioned earlier. I'm interested in seeing more of it.

Fate/Zero second season
I'm probably going to wait until it's done and watch it with Regulus then. If it's going to be anything like the first half, I do not want to suffer for about a week to see what happens next.

Canaan - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=6275
Something I burrowed from my bro that's been on my desk for months now. I really need to do something about that. LOL I hear it pretty good but I haven't been in much of an anime mood lately.

I've broken what has likely been a year long anime fast, currently watching Nichijou, as it has been recommended to me by a few places, and slice of life is probably my favorite genre.

I declare it the most japanese cartoon ever made, thanks to the abundance of japanese puns and references I have no clue what are.

I also find it to be very well done and quite funny.

ah, very nice!

I watched Nichijou back when it was airing and quite enjoyed it myself. Some of the episodes were a bit hit or miss but most of the time it was pretty funny to me. Most of the characters were great. My favorite segments were most often the ones featuring Yuuko. Though the Professor and her household also presented some great segments.

The animation of the show is also fantastic as it was done by Kyoto Animation, (Kanon, Clannad, Haruhi, etc.)

After the first episode's Awesome scene

I knew the show would be a keeper.

Some stuff.

Acchi Kocchi - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8890
Up to episode 6 of this, dunno if I'm halfway though it or not. A pretty typical slice-of-life show about a group of five friends doing stuff together (and also teasing the two main characters constantly). Not much really goes on in the show and each episode is divided into two half with a different theme and gag each time. If you like slice-of-life stuff, chances are you'd probably like this, too.

Nazo no Kanojo X (Mysterious Girlfriend X) - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8853
Up to episode 6 of this as well. Again, dunno if I'm halfway through it or not. I'm still pretty interested and intrigued, although there are a couple of things bothering me about it. The relationship between the two characters isn't really going anywhere yet, something which even the male lead, Tsubaki Akira, notices. I'm on episode 6 and only in the last episode have he and Urabe Mikoto actually gone on something like a date. I know that their relationship is kind of a secret to the rest of their class and all, but come on. The other thing I'm not quite following right now if how the "saliva-link", as I'll call it, works. Apparently he and she can experience some of what the other character is feeling or dreamed of after an exchange of saliva. But it only seems to work between a couple of characters (the two main characters and one of the supporting characters are confirmed; but another character who was given some saliva isn't affected). I'm going to keep watching it though because I'm still enjoying it, either way.

I'm on Sailor Moon SuperS now. The first three seasons are pretty good (although I'm not too fond of the main arc in R) but I think SuperS might not be so good it got waaaay too much focus on ChibiUsa

Also watched the first ep of Yu Yu Hakusho after finally buying it, once I'm done with Sailor Moon this show is next

A few days ago I got Chuka Ichiban/Cooking Master boy on a discount sale terrible subs but it's defintely going to be a good series

I've completed the first 3 seasons of Sailor Moon as well. (I may get to SuperS and Stars in the next year or so.) The R series was actually my favorite of the first 3. The Negamoon family arc actually being my favorite. The first series is close behind.

S while still enjoyable was comparatively not as good, though the new heroines were interesting, the enemies on the other hand I did not find interesting. In earlier seasons you could get something of an emotional attachment to some of the villains. The show has always been episodic monster of the week bad guy of the month but in S the villains seemed even more like cannon fodder then their predecessors. lol. I didn't get too attached to any of them.

As for Yu Yu Hakusho I've seen about 75% of it back in the day and its a good show. Probably as good as Shounen action gets. (which isn't my cup of tea anymore) I haven't gotten around to finishing it because it is so long and I haven't been motivated to keep up on such a long haul.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
As for me, I guess I'll make a recent anime projects post.
I'm slowly getting through the 2nd half of Magic Knight Rayearth. I'm not enjoying it very much. The first half though kind of cheesy was pretty decent. The 2nd half... though it introduces some mildly interesting new characters and ideas, feels very long, dragged out and unnecessary and it just doesn't play out well at all. And the cheese factor has multiplied 2 or 3 times. They should have left it as complete at the end of the first half and it would've been fine..
This Spring season I'm also watching....
Acchi Kochi - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8890
I was pretty much spot on with this. It's no masterpiece but could please fans of the slice of life/comedy genre. There's also a very weak romantic element that probably won't develop into much. If you don't like the characters though you'll have a hard time staying on board.
Mysterious Girlfriend X - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8853
Show is maintaining my interest. Main girl is great. Art Style and music are also nice. Pacing is kind of slow but enough happens in each episode to keep it from getting boring. It's probably my favorite show so far this season but its only perhaps slightly above average so far.
Nyarko-san: Another Crawling Chaos - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=8719
Picked this one up by rec from a buddy. The premise is kind of ridiculous but if you don't take it too seriously it could be a fun ride. It's kind of an otaku-bait show but it's proved to be pretty funny at times and the voice cast is fantastic. I'm especially pleased with Kana Asumi's performance as the main girl Nyaruko. It's great hearing her in such an over the top hyper active character role. Those familiar with a good amount of anime may recognize her. She has also played Popura in Working! and Yuno in Hidamari Sketch among many others.
Also still hording Fate/Zero 2 episodes.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I also watched this today....
Pugyuru - http://anidb.net/perl-bin/animedb.pl?show=anime&aid=1708
Short eps series. Can be completed in less then an hour. If you're a fan of wacky off the wall humor like Hare + Guu and Di Gi Charat I'd recommend it, though it was not as good as either one. I enjoyed it and got a few good laughs. It can be picked up off BakaBT

Finished Sailor Moon several weeks ago. Now trying to multitask three episodes of Yu Yu Hakusho(jesus the subs are terrible it managed to swap Kurama and Hiei's names) and one episode of Amatsuki (Someone gave it to me last week and yesterday started going for a one ep run. 13 episodes is terribly short)

Season 1 was really good with interesting villains and good supporting casts

R I love the Alien Arc but Chibusa in the Main arc really really really drives me nuts

S I do love the new characters and Chibiusa is less annoying but the villains ye lord do they scream crazy bitches

SuperS was horrible too many filler even by Sailor Moon standard and everyone is so stuuuupid

Stars is my favourite plus no Chibiusa in the main arc but what I don't like is...

Spoiler:
In the Stars season the treatment for both the main villainess are too linient especially Nehellenia they gave her this shit excuse and let her get away with all that BS

Yu Yu Hakusho is awesome even better than Sailor Moon

Amatsuki is also very good and promising if only it lasted more than a measly few months in 2008 and I don't think there'd be anymore season unless they are gonna try again once the manga ends

Grave of the Fireflies is a really good sad show

Ape Escape I saw two episodes on youtube it's really funny those two episodes though who knows when I see a few more

Some other shows to consider about getting (gonna hide them in spoilers as it's gonna be extremely long)

Spoiler:
Gurren Lagann: Saw one ep several months ago will consider getting it

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei: A friend of mine likes it, seems to be a satire on the emo trend or something yet I can never find it in stores...

I'm currently over half done Sailor Moon Super S at 24/39 episodes. I agree that it is the weakest season so far but I find it tolerable, some eps even enjoyable. I'll probably be done it in a couple more weeks.

I'm still trying to wrap up the current season as well. Hopefully I'll be able to do that soon and then I'll make my seasonal anime post. I've got another short list of shows I want to try this coming season. There hasn't been a season I was really excited about it awhile...

Wow that's quite a list you've compiled Hien! Many of them great watches, a few I've never even heard of.

My favorites in that lot are....
Kanon
Galactic Heroes
Slayers
Nodame Cantabile
and Kimi ni Todoke

Hmm there are a few good episodes in SuperS but some like jealous! Usagi and Yuiichi over Mamoru/Rei respectively, Diana's debut, two timing Minako, and (I don't think you reached that point yet so I'm gonna add a spoiler tag so you can read what I mean when you are done)

Spoiler:
The girls are pestering Chibiusa if she has a boyfriend and the keep pestering her and eventually thought she has this troll faced man for a boyfriend even if the art is really good and the episode where Minako and Makoto are fighting AGAIN unlike the first spoilered example the art is horribly ugly as well

But I do like the last two eps those three male villains are around,
Spoiler:
the dentist filler, the filler with Makoto and her writer friend and the last episode Naru and Umino ever appeared in

Edit: Forgot to mention a few shows in my last post as I posted it last midnight

Irresponsible Captain Tylor

Maid Sama

Monster

Digimon Adventure

Digimon Frontier

Studio 4C stuff
I've only seen First Squad: The Moment of Truth. Story is very bizarre but animation is very good and concepts were interesting. Worth checking out. All their stuff in general though is very outside the box. They don't appeal to everyone...

Some film by Group TAC about a Sheep and a wolf

Is this what you're talking about? How do you stumble across this stuff? It took me awhile to find it lmao. BTW there seems to be 3 of these movies.

Of that list, a few of my favorites are in there:
Azumanga
Nichijou (atleast recently)
Full Metal Alchemist (brotherhood though)
Kino No Tabi
Monster - It starts out slow, but it is by far the best Psychological Thriller in anime after it gets past the intro and into the story itself.
(The bottom 3 are all exceptionally written, the top 2 are just funny.)

Ones that I recall as being good, but don't stand out as much:
Ouran High School Host Club

Ones that I have had remote interest in but am too lazy to actually watch:
Prof. Layton (because I like the games)
Cooking Papa (because it's a silly concept, and the manga is one of the longest running mangas in existence for some unexplainable reason, sadly, there's no subbed episodes)

ah this looks considerably better then what I found and posted. Still not something you'd easily stumble across though. ha ha.

some great shows...

Kino's Journey was definitely an interesting title for those that like things that are different from the norm. Kino was also an awesome character. I'm of the opinion that its not a show that people can easily get into. it seems more-so targeted at a hardcore crowd or people that like to think on things in depth. What I liked most about the series was its traveling concept so you'd know every episode would be something quite different from the last and it would keep your interest quite well because of that I remember the railroad episode and the ep about the voting society and the "play warring" nations being my favorites and quite interesting..

Monster I've heard good things about all over and intend to try out myself someday.

I tried wiping out the entire list of 80s/90s anime list in Wiki to find what was I looking for. I remember seeing a cover of an anime back in 2000/2001 but I don't remember the name but it definitely looks 90ish/old (and it is old considering it can't be newer than 2001 at most)

All I remember was a naked girl in a coffin

I don't have much i can suggest as possibilities off the top of my head.

Long shot guess would be Kimera?

Nope doesn't look like Kimera

Hmm lemme guess long hair not sure what colour because of lighting(being blue/purple). Red, yellow, orange, green, pink, white and brown are out. So either blue, purple or black
