Okay, ew. JPEG compression did funky things to the tones and now they look not nice anymore, especially when I had to resize the thing.
So I was experimenting with a software called Computones, which allows you to apply manga-style tones as part of a Photoshop plug-in. I have mixed feelings about it. On one hand, it makes some things a lot easier (like those effect lines in the middle panel - takes forever to do it by hand, and once you screw it up you really screw it up) and you can correct mistakes. On the other hand, there's just not that same feeling of zen satisfaction you get by sitting hunched over your worktable etching away at the tones with a box cutter. I kinda miss my etching dust piles.
In any case...MIHAELE. She turned out cool here. I wanted a white tone effect for her, but there wasn't any on the Computones that I had, so I improvised with a stipple brush from Photoshop. Lilith also turned out pretty okay, but I wish I could've used a gradient for her eyes.
Ahahaha. Sora has no sense of tone balance. Oh well. Practice, practice, practice.
