The Ogre Battle saga.
To date, the series consists of five games. In chronological order, they are:
Tactics Ogre: The Knight of Lodis (GBA)
Ogre Battle: March of the Black Queen (SNES, later ported to PS1)
Ogre Battle Gaiden: Prince of Zenobia (Japan-only, a Neo-Geo game)
Ogre Battle 64: Person of Lordly Caliber (N64)
Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together (SNES Japan-only, later translated and ported to PS1)
I myself have only played both Tactics Ogre games and a little bit of March of the Black Queen. The Tactics games differ greatly from the others in that it's a tactical RPG, unlike the others which are strategy. However, I think the story of Tactics Ogre is far better than its spiritual sequel, Final Fantasy Tactics (though FFT has vastly superior gameplay). |
