I get what your saying, but in double dash, theres all kinds of other items that can be useful to you even when you are in the lead. Usually the ones that boost your speed or ones that protect you from people behind you.
Oh, and speeking of bannanas... have you played donkey kong in mario kart double dash? He throws these gigantic bananas peels, and if you hit the huge bananna, it will split into three more little bannana peels. :stun:  lol
