I have only played Mario Kart 64. I found the multiplayer race mode to be quite poor. The game gives whoever is losing great stuff (like stars) so they can catch up. Whoever is in first just gets bananas and junk. We found that it was actually a disadvantage to be in first place at the beginning of the 3rd lap. It is better to just closely follow in second place so you will get a star or something.
But I like the battle mode. I can usually beat people ten times in a row at the skyscraper (my favorite area). |
