Outside, Artemis cursed under her breath as she scrambled for purchase on the rain-slicked roof. The grey stormclouds above were releasing a deluge of water, drenching her within seconds.
Eventually, she found a grip and heaved herself up to the secret overhead entrance, then slid into it.
She landed with an audible thump on the stone, and quickly rolled into the shadows to avoid detection.
Artemis, gripping her worn sword tightly by the hilt, quietly followed the two who had already gone deeper in.[/i] |
