As usual, I've been too occupied with other things to get a chance to visit the boards much lately, so I'm still out of the loop. I'm working on revamping the Bomberman site (and the rest of my site), which will hopefully encourage me to get translating more stuff.

But for now, I got my hands on guides for Baku Bomberman 2 (The Second Attack), Bomberman Quest and Bomberman Hero. The last one still needs scanned and I've been too much of a lazy bugger to even finish cleaning up all the images, but I thought I may as well upload them now and then put the finished ones on my site later. They're half the size than what I scanned, I'm afraid - I didn't want to spend all day uploading a 250mb zip file, but they should still be readable.

Wow, the gods bless you for scanning all of that. I got sick with scanning the TSA guide after doing all the parts that had official art I hadn't seen before. x_x;;

Wow, nice. I couldn't read anything in the Baku Bomberman 2 guide book for obvious reasons, so I just looked at the pictures :3

I wish I had this sooner though. I would have fed it to plasm for making the sprites. Oh well, at least there's still some other art there that I don't already had (Sorry Sora but I don't remember what happened to the art you gave me  )

But I know how to make that reading problem go away! *pokes at plasm* XD
(I said Dark Zaphe by accident >.>)

Thanks for all the awesome uploads everybody! It's really helped with my image collection!

On a side note, could anyone upload the manual/images of the enemies from Panic Bomber? I'd really like some of those if anyone has them. :peace:

Yikes, didn't mean to take this long. Here's my preliminary Bomberman Hero guide scan! Like last time, they've been shrunk to half size for ease of uploading and I haven't bothered rotating them or cropping them and so on. For that matter I haven't even got checking the scans thoroughly yet, so I'm not sure how much blur there is between pages.

And just to keep everyone in the loop, I've got more stuff arriving - Bomberman 94 and 93, Bomberman Fantasy Race and Bomberman Land 2 (all Japanese versions), and a book, Bomberman Maniax. Not sure what to expect from it, but we'll see what happens!

Thanks a lot, Ragey!

Now if only there were scans of the Bomberman Generation guide floating around...

Not sure if this has been mentioned before, but -- I'm genuinely surprised at how many of these guides (thinking in particular of TSA, Story/Tournament, and now Hero) feature artwork that seems to be entirely original to the guides. o_O I mean, that's actual EFFORT expended to get extra stuff like that.

*clearly needs to start making icons out of these things again*

Dang Ragey, where do you get all these guides from?

Can't wait for that Bomberman Land 2 guide.

I love you Ragey! And I agree with Sora, someone put time into drawing all of these characters and to let it go to waste is such a shame. I share these images with all the Bman fans I meet. :veryhappy:

I get the guides from hit-japan on eBay. Takes about a month to arrive to the UK via regular postage (they do offer express postage, but I'm a total tightwad about my postage expenses), but given how it's the only place I can buy them without having to deal with middleman services like Rinkya, I haven't any complaints. I'd definitely recommend their services.

I also noticed they had the guide to Wars floating around - I'd like to have gotten it, but I admit I'm kind of hoping for Dragon Bomber to make his annual reappearance and have it scanned. =P

Nice to have a good look at resurrected Bagular in artwork (scan 102)!
I had never noticed all the small differences from the old one just by looking at the 3D model (scan 109).

Ah, curses! No art of Evil Bomber

Holy crap!! There's a secret stage set on Planet Bomber's moon?!? (Scan 119) I didn't know that! :surprise:
How do I get there???

EDIT
Ah, damn it... there doesn't seem to be enough room for that gray box to appear below the stereo/monaural selector in the English version, so it might be a Japanese exclusive.

Ok, I did some research and thanks to Yahoo answers I think I figured out what to do about the secret level.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=AoKN0yN8ujIyQT1_ixWFnbfty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20110312144040AAeF4sZ

Note my answerer said "pad of Hudson", Hudson made a controller called the Joycard 64 for the N64 back in the day. Like many games before Hero, Hudson liked to have people connect a multitap (etc) to unlock extra goodies.

So in a nutshell, I believe you must connect a Joycard 64 to your console to unlock the extra levels. I have no idea how difficult it may be to find one of those controllers so maybe there is someone who can hack the rom and access the levels? The latter would be nice since I would like to record some footage of said levels.

Efking Hudson pushing their efking hardware...

Yeah, making the emulated game think the requirements are fulfilled would probably be the best solution since that'd allow all of us to see this levels (as opposed to just whomever is willing to indulge Hudson's schemes).

Isn't the only gimmick of the JoyCard its ability to rapid-fire the Start button? Back in the day sites were saying the only way to unlock the battle stages in Baku Bomberman was to use a JoyCard, but you get the same result just hammering the Start button like crazy. Same thing should apply to Hero, surely.

I could never get that blasted "mash Start" trick to work myself. No wonder they released the Joycard.
